If I buy a new home theater system receiver, do I need to buy new speakers?
I want to buy a DTS-HD with Dolby true HD receiver. But do I need to buy new speakers?
Most likely, NO. As long as you match up the impedance of your speakers to your receiver. Such as, 8ohm speaker needs to be connected to a 8ohm receiver. Most stand alone receivers are 8ohm as well as stand alone speakers.
Easy answer – if you had current speakers hooked up to a receiver and all you are doing is getting a new receiver, you will be fine.
FYI – DTS-HD sounds amazing.
